The people who build, break and write it up
Eight of us keep EXG Gaming running. Everyone here plays Minecraft, and everyone tests what they publish – farms get built, mods get benchmarked, seeds get loaded and checked before a post goes live.
Editorial team
Each writer owns a couple of sections rather than covering everything. It means the person writing about redstone is the person who actually builds redstone.
Runs the site and decides what gets covered. Handles snapshot and release coverage himself, mostly because he refuses to let anyone else be first to a patch note. Plays hardcore survival and has lost more worlds than he admits.
Works out what players are actually searching for and makes sure a post answers that instead of something adjacent. Keeps the older guides from going stale when a new version breaks them.
Edits for clarity before anything else. If a guide cannot be followed without opening a second tab, it goes back to the writer. Also keeps the internal linking honest.
Installs everything so you do not have to. Benchmarks performance mods on the same test world every time, which is why the frame rate numbers here are comparable across reviews. Fabric over Forge, and will say so.
Builds every design that runs on the site, usually twice – once to see if it works and once to see how it breaks. Specialises in farm layouts that survive a version update.
Loads seeds, walks the coordinates and throws out the ones that only look good in a screenshot. Knows more about structure generation than is strictly healthy.
Writes the building side – block palettes, roof shapes, the detailing that makes a survival base look deliberate. Prefers creative mode and is not apologetic about it.
Covers the half of Minecraft that guides usually skip. Tests whether a Java trick works on Bedrock, and writes up server hosting and plugin setups for people running their own SMP.
How we assign and check work
A post starts with whoever owns that section. They build or install or load whatever the post is about, then write it. Moreno edits for whether a reader can actually follow it, and Sofia checks that the post answers the question people are searching rather than a version of it we invented.
Patch coverage skips the queue – snapshots go up the same day, then get revised once we have had time to test what the change does to existing worlds and farms.
When something turns out to be wrong, we fix the post and say what changed at the bottom of it. If you spot an error, tell us and it gets handled the same way.
